About Us
Finding Inspiration in Every Turn
The Lady Lake Museum and The Lady Lake Historical Society found a home in the Former Lady Lake Train Station in 2000. The foresight of Earl Rowlette; our founder, with the Kiwanis Club of Lady Lake lead to the creation of our Museum. Hard work and fundraising led to the beautiful place it is today. Volunteers are our lifeblood. Our mission is to entertain, encourage and inspire our community by keeping history alive. Volunteers are needed.

Our Story
How did the former Lady Lake Train Station become the Lady Lady Historical Society Museum?
It all began in 1883 when some locals built the train station. This way the lumber, turpentine, citrus and watermelons could find markets farther away. The Train Station was home to the Florida Central rail line and then later the Atlantic Coast Line. The Depot is currently painted in the Atlantic Coast Line colors. Trains ran from 1884 to 1967 and after that the station was empty. The Depot was relocated two times once to Guava Street and then to its current location. Come visit to learn more about Our Story.
